EM use in Aquaculture

EM is ideally suited for use in pond based aquaculture systems. Not only will the EM help to maintain the water quality, but will also the breakdown of waste and sludge on the pond floor. If EM is used, both growth rates and fish help is significantly improved.

If added to fish feed, EM has been proven to boost the immune system of fish. Download Research

EM is also ideally suited for use in recirculating systems, as the EM will increase the efficiency of biological filters, especially if used in conjunction with EM ceramics. BOD levels will be significantly reduced.

If reed beds are incorporated into a fish farms as part of its pollution control protocol, EM will again boost the efficiency of the system helping to reduce BOD & COD.

EM Ceramics

EM ceramics mentioned above, are ideal for closed systems. They will maintain the water quality and control odours by consuming the waste products produced by the fish - both organic and chemical, including ammonia (excreted by fish through their gills), CO2 and hydrogen sulphide - all of which are toxic to fish if allowed to accumulate.
This means they can also be used to 'clean' incoming hatchery water (say from a borehole) that might contain unwanted chemicals, for example dissolved iron.

Because EM ceramics actively consume the waste that comes in contact with they won't become clogged. EM ceramics will remain active for at least 10 years and are used at 1 part:1000 parts water (1 Kilo/CuM) - but if used in an enclosed system, the quantity required can be reduced by 20%.
